Life

I was talking to a friend the other day about age, how it is funny how getting older just creeps up on us. All of a sudden we ache in places we never used to, the mattress isn't as comfortable as it used to be, it takes us longer to do what used to be done in a flash, those brown hairs now have a spattering of grey.

It's funny how life can just slip us by if we don't pay attention to it and make what is really important a priority. If we wait too long to long to let our kids or spouse know how much we love them or neglect our spirituality putting it off to another day we may just miss it all together.

I am encouraged to know that my life was saved by Jesus' death on the cross and more importantly His rising three days later, I am encouraged that I always try to make it a priority to let my wife and kids know I love them and that grace flows freely from my them as they strive to be more like Christ. I must admit I need their grace more than I would like as more often than not I make mistakes.

But isn't life about making mistakes, learning from them, not repeating them, learning to forgive and learning to be more like Christ everyday, extending the grace given by Him and others to us to all those we encounter on a daily basis. I think it's important for me to make sure I have my priorities in order and that I live a life where others come first, after all, before I know it I will be really old!
