Are All Post Offices Created Equal?

Have you ever had a package delivered by Canada Post, or should I say had a notice left in your mail box because you weren't home?

If you have you will know about the notice they leave in your mailbox telling you where you can pick up your parcel, normally it is the closest satellite post office to you.

Well I want to tell you about my Canada Post experience so far this week. First of all they haven't bothered to deliver the packages I was expecting they choose instead to just leave the notice card saying it could be picked up at the satellite post office.

Now I hear you, ok so why does this matter???? Well did I tell you that on one day I had three parcels they chose to leave the notice for instead of delivering them, oh and each of the packages had to be picked up at a different satellite post office in the city. Now from my location the offices were approximately 2km's away, 8km's away and 20km's away! Now that is not only frustrating, but also a waste of my time, a waste of gas and highlights the inefficiency that is the norm in my experience with Canada Post.

Then to top it off, today I had another package notice and it is for pick up at a totally different satellite post office about 10kms away!

Not only are they not doing their job and attempting to deliver the packages but they then want you running all over the city to collect your packages!

The only thing I can think of is that Canada Post and its executives have invested a large sum of money in the oil companies and are doing their best to have us consume more oil!

  1. "Have you ever had a package delivered by Canada Post?" Yeah, on occasion. :)

I'm not brave enough to have anything sent to me at work anymore though, after two mis-deliveries in a row though! And seeing 20% of the parcels I ship for work being delivered after their guaranteed delivery date doesn't exactly strengthen my faith in them either. But at least the refunds I get for the late deliveries are consistent enough to count as a new revenue source!
